First Semester sketches

Hi there fellow crawlers! What a semester that was! I feel like crap, but more importantly, I thought I'd share some of the sketches I made on various crawls this semester. These are all I have scanned right now. Enjoy, and think about posting some of your own as well. Keep the blog alive people. Happy Holidays.

results for first crawl

Last week was the first SketchCrawl at Calarts!! We started off at the school and then headed down to the marketplace in Valencia. There were some pretty nice things to draw down there. I spotted this kid playing soccer with his daddio...and there were of course the unsuspecting courtyard coffee drinkers. There were some cute little dogs too. Back at the school I drew some flowers and a row of fire extinguishers as well. It got hot pretty quick so we were only out for an hour or so, but I think a good time was had by all who attended.

Next time hopefully the official SC day won't land on the same weekend as the 48 hour film! We can do this kind of thing any day actually, so if anyone gets the urge to go sketch, post it up and we can have our own mini-crawl inbetween official SketchCrawl days. Sound good? Good!

If any of you have drawings from last week, or from any random sketching around, post them up!

where to crawl!

Hey everyone! Getting ready to crawl?
I thought I'd ask everyone what they thought would be better for our first sketchcrawl--a walking trip or a driving trip? It also depends on who has a car, and how many people would be able to drive. If there was some interest in a driving trip we'd have to take down volunteer drivers first to see if that would even be possible. The number of people attending would affect that as well. So far here are a few ideas:

Walking: campus (outside and/or inside [i heard there was a rope swing somewhere?]), across freeway to shopping center area (mostly outside, unless we can find a cool cafe, maybe jamba juice) nearby park (i'll have to do some more research into where it is and what it's like, but I'm pretty sure there's one near here)
Driving: the Ghetty (free to students, i think!) shopping malls (lots of people watching)

Well it's not much, but that's what I've heard people reccomend so far. Pour out your ideas!

! Reminder !

Save the date- the next world-wide Sketchcrawl is Saturday, October 25th! More info will be posted as it becomes available.
